The Gordon School

A community of leaders

Gordon students learn to be compassionate leaders by practicing every day.

They’ll begin as line leaders and classroom helpers in Early Childhood, and the work quickly escalates as they grow older. Second graders spend months selecting the Gordon Multicultural Picture Book Award. Third graders pair up with Kindergarteners as buddies for Friday afternoon games and readalouds. Fourth graders run the monthly Lower School town meetings.

By the time they are in Middle School, they’ve learned to be models, for one another and for younger students, on stage, on the playing field, in the classroom and in the halls. Gordon’s Nursery to eighth grade structure allows the fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth graders to begin finding their own leadership styles, and they enter high school ready to advocate for themselves and for others.
