The Maryanne Pieri Neurodiversity Fund

above: Maryanne Pieri was honored by friends, family, students and colleagues in May 2022

Maryanne Pieri’s deep and abiding love of Gordon and her devotion and loyalty to faculty, parents, and children in her orbit, have been the hallmarks of her nearly three decades of service to our school community.

To have a full sense of what Maryanne has accomplished, it is important to consider the innovation and growth that Gordon has experienced since 1995, changes that were deeply rooted in the grades that Maryanne directly oversaw. One branch of this work was the expansion of services and individualized attention that Gordon provided to students who represented an increasingly broad range of learning styles. Maryanne recognized how essential this work was to Gordon's vision of a truly inclusive school.

Maryanne’s true impact and where her legacy will ultimately lie is in all of the children who she knows by name and who have felt truly known, in all of the families she has lovingly counseled through their parenthood journey, and in all of the teachers who have stretched and honed their craft because of her thoughtful guidance, support and care.

The Maryanne Pieri Fund for Neurodiversity will support Gordon’s strategic commitment to better serve a wide range of neurodiverse students at Gordon. The fund will focus on efforts central to Maryanne’s life work, which is to ensure that all students can receive the stretch and support they need based on how they best learn and experience the world around them.
