Giving Tuesday
Dear Friends,
This Giving Tuesday, Gordon invites you to learn more about some of the partner organizations that help ground our students’ experience in the work of effecting real, lasting change in the world.
From Nursery to eighth grade, Gordon students and faculty connect with dozens of organizations over the years. These include formal nonprofits, museums, schools and businesses, as well as informal community groups. They Zoom into our classrooms, welcome us on field trips, consult with us on sustainability initiatives and partner with us on events like the book fair.
The list is long, too long to include here. For this Giving Tuesday, then, we’re focusing on nonprofits that work with our eighth graders during their last weeks at Gordon. On the Civil Rights Trip to Georgia and Alabama, and the service learning work that follows, eighth graders engage with these partners in direct and meaningful ways. It's a powerful culminating experience that gives soon-to-be graduates a running start as they leave Maxfield Avenue and become forces for positive change in the world beyond Gordon.
The nonprofits listed below were a part of the Civil Rights Trip and the eighth grade service learning experience last spring. Please take a moment to learn more about these essential partners of ours, and consider supporting them this Giving Tuesday.
