Giving Tuesday
Dear Friends,
This Giving Tuesday, Gordon invites you to learn more about some of the partner organizations that help ground our students’ experience in the work of effecting real, lasting change in the world.
Parenterships are an essential piece of Gordon's effort to connect on-campus learning to the rest of the world. From Nursery to eighth grade, Gordon students and faculty work with dozens of organizations over the years. These include formal nonprofits, museums, schools and businesses, as well as informal community groups. They Zoom into our classrooms, welcome us on field trips, host our eighth graders for service learning opportunities, consult with us on sustainability initiatives and partner with us on events like the Providence Children's Film Festivals movie nights.
The list is long, too long to include here. For this Giving Tuesday, then, we’re focusing on nonprofits that work with our eighth graders on the Civil Rights Trip to Georgia and Alabama. It's a powerful culminating experience that gives soon-to-be graduates a running start as they leave Maxfield Avenue and become forces for positive change in the world beyond Gordon.
Please take a moment to learn more about these essential partners who were each part of the 2023 Civil Rights Trip, and consider supporting them this Giving Tuesday.
Dexter Avenue King Memorial Baptist Church Montgomery, Alabama
Equal Justice Initiative Montgomery, Alabama
Foot Soldiers Park Selma, Alabama
Morehouse College Atlanta, Georgia
More Than Tours Montgomery, Alabama
New Georgia Project Atlanta, Georgia
Southern Poverty Law Center Montgomery, Alabama
Thank you for taking the time to get to know some of our extended family of partners, and for considering supporting them today. If you wish to include Gordon in your Giving Tuesday giving as well, please use the buttons below.
