April 23rd

Dear Families, Faculty, Alumni, Grandparents and all of Gordon's extended family,

Today, Governor Raimondo asked all Kindergarten to twelfth grade schools to continue online learning for the remainder of the school year.

I am saddened by this step, but not surprised. The Governor has been providing us with clear, well-informed decision making throughout this crisis, and this new decision builds on her fact-based rationale for the many choices she has made since this crisis began.

For the past several weeks, I have been advising faculty and staff to plan as if we were not coming back to campus this spring. And while we could never be fully prepared emotionally for the idea of staying away from our campus and each other for so long, I am proud of the resiliency of our community and the way that we have continued to show care and empathy towards one another: children, parents, faculty and staff.

Please click on the video below for a personal message about this decision. I do hope you share it with your family.

As we forge ahead into June and plan for the fall, it is with the same commitment to the well being of our community that we will continue to build our Online Learning Community, as a space where our mission is lived out, our core values demonstrated and authentic, and meaningful work happens for all. These are uncertain times but they are also times of great opportunity.

Thank you again for your partnership,

Noni
