Before and after school programs

Morning care is available for all students starting at 7:15am, free of charge, every day with no sign-up required. This gives families the flexibility to drop off early and beat rush hour.

Enter the school through the Nelson Center entrance for Early Gators and YAP.

Gordon has after school care available for all students daily through 5:30 p.m, with no advanced notice necessary. Gators serves students in Nursery through fourth grade. YAP (Young Adult Place) serves students in fifth through eighth grade. SAGE provides an after school snack each day. 

Full-year packages

Pre-register for the full year at a discounted rate before August 26th. Full-year packages include daily care every school day plus 50% off all Gator Days.

• Early Childhood (Nursery–Kindergarten): $2,850 per year

• Lower School (first to fourth grades): $2,280 per year

• Middle School (fifth to eighth grades): $1,025 per year

Drop-In Rate

$35 per day 
Students who are not picked up on time at dismissal will automatically go to Gators or YAP and be billed the drop-in rate.

Gator Days are all-day care from 8am to 5:30pm when school is not in session. These are available on weekdays when there are no classes and it is not a federal holiday. The school calendar explains which holidays are covered and which are not.

• Half day (up to five hours): $75
• Full day: $115
• Full year Gators and YAP families: 50% off

Advance registration is required and a minimum number of students must be registered by the deadline for each Gator Day to run. Details and deadlines will be announced in the Thursday Gordon News.

Free care is not free for Gordon.

Gordon often offers free child care during evening parent events. It costs Gordon money to staff this child care. In order to keep this money from going to waste, anyone who signs up for evening care but does not end up using it will be asked to pay a fee to help cover the staffing and materials costs.

Professional musicians teach private lessons on campus in piano, guitar, drums, violin, ukulele, flute, clarinet, voice, and more. Lessons run in three trimesters aligned with the school year. Open to all grades.

$33 per lesson (thirty-minute private lesson) plus a $25 registration fee per trimester

G-Notes is Gordon's auditioned a cappella group for sixth, seventh, and eighth graders. Rehearsals take place after school on Fridays. A cappella singing is extremely challenging. Students who are willing to commit to extra time, hard work, and performances are welcome to audition in September.

Brother to Brother is a program for Middle School boys of color, designed to foster belonging, confidence, and connection across grade levels. Led by Marlon Henry and a team of faculty, staff, and parent mentors, meetings take place on campus roughly once per month, with occasional group excursions. The program draws on the success of Common Ground and other identity-based affinity work at Gordon.

Lower School Common Ground is a voluntary program for Lower School students of color, offering a relaxed, supportive space to build friendships, explore racial identity, and connect with faculty and staff of color. Meetings are led by Gordon faculty and run weekly on Tuesdays from dismissal to 4:30pm in fall and spring sessions. Pickup is at the front circle.

Middle School Common Ground is a voluntary program that facilitates positive racial identity exploration, connection, and support for students of color in fifth through eighth grade. Meetings take place during lunch on a rotating eight-day cycle, with evening gatherings approximately once per month for deeper dialogue and community building.
