Gordon’s twenty-fifth annual Britt Nelson Visiting Artist
Every year, Gordon brings dozens of arts professionals into the classroom to work directly with students.
Some are national figures like Kwame Alexander or Grace Lin. Others are local artists who can continue their relationship with the school long after their visit,
Sometimes they come to lead a hands-on project. Other times, they offer feedback on a students’ portfolio. Either way, each student gets to make an authentic connection with a working artist, a connection that helps affirm their own emerging voices and gives them a glimpse into the world of those who choose a career in the arts.
