The Tuition Institute

Creating a pricing system that is aligned to your school's mission

Gordon School
East Providence, RI
September 25, 2019, 9:00am to 3:00pm

In 2015, Gordon’s Board of Trustees took action to rethink the independent school tuition systems of full price and financial aid. The goal was to create a single, mission aligned tuition system that included all families and supported the school's work in equity and inclusion. Over a period of three years, Gordon researched, designed and implemented Family Individualized Tuition (FIT) ©.

The school is entering its third admissions season with FIT fully implemented and the school already has already seen the positive impact of FIT.

The Tuition Institute is an opportunity for school leaders to hear how FIT has influenced the school’s work: the admissions process, the school's finances, and the school's culture. Participants will learn from Noni Thomas López, Head of School, Veronica Jutras, Admissions Director, and Tom Cicatiello, Chief Financial Officer.

Audience

The Tuition Institute is for school leaders who are exploring innovative ways to improve their school’s tuition pricing system. Given the ways in which tuition and tuition pricing affect policy, finances and institutional culture, school teams are encouraged to attend this all day institute.

The Tuition Institute will focus on the following key topics:

  • Improving the parent experience
  • Developing your own pricing model
  • Developing language and culture
  • Tailoring a model for your own school’s set of values
  • Marketing your new system
  • Knowing when your school is ready for a change

Participants will have an opportunity to hear from a parent panel and learn transition and communication strategies.
