Irene Horton brings fifteen years of math teaching experience to the Gordon School. She began at Gordon in 2012. Prior to working at Gordon she predominantly taught in urban public schools in Philadelphia, Oakland, Boston and Providence both at the middle school and high school levels.

At Gordon she enjoys teaching students about the joy and purpose of learning mathematics. In particular, Irene has loved seeing the students experiment with real world applications of the content. She earned her Bachelors degree in Mathematics and her Masters in Secondary Education from the University of Pennsylvania.

Outside of school, Irene likes to spend time exploring the outdoors, going to the beach, and playing soccer with her kids. Her sons both love attending Gordon School!
