Angela was born and lived in Kenya until moving to Dallas, TX when she was in 8th grade. In Kenya, she attended Aga Khan Primary School, a multicultural, multiethnic, multinational, and multireligious learning and living community.
Gordon's mission of diversity and teaching the whole child makes her feel like she's come full circle as a learner, educator, and now parent of two Gordon students.
After earning her B.A. in Mathematics and Middle East Studies, and later a Master of Arts in Teaching from Brown University, Angela taught for 5 years at Community Preparatory School in Providence before coming to Gordon. She has been passionate about teaching math and science to middle school students for the last twelve years. She feels incredibly fortunate to work in a place where her own children can be a part of a diverse community that empowers as it educates and affirms their sense of self and place in the world. When she's not teaching, she enjoys collecting interesting indoor plants and orchids, embarking on epic hiking trips with her family, and repurposing items for new uses.
