Mimi Roterman was born in Sweden and grew up the United Kingdom. She has been teaching at Gordon since 2008. Before that, she worked in Cambridge Public Schools right after getting her Masters in Elementary Education from Lesley University in conjunction with the Teaching Training Course at the Shady Hill School in Cambridge, MA. She received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Exeter University in the UK.

The child by child approach at Gordon is central to Mimi’s teaching philosophy. She thrives in an environment where she is able to differentiate the curriculum according each of her student’s abilities, interests and cultural backgrounds. She is consistently impressed at the depth of thought that Gordon students can come to when given a chance to interact with a challenging, multicultural curriculum. When not teaching or raising her daughter, she is chasing waves on Rhode Island’s coastline. She also is an avid birdwatcher, cross-country skier and open water swimmer, and likes to relax with a book and a nice cup of tea.
