Carly Allard

Health and wellness, 6th grade advisor

Carly Allard comes to Gordon with a wealth of experience in the field of health education where she has specialized in sexuality and relationship education. Carly has been involved in curricula design, implementation, and evaluation. She has taught a wide range of health and wellness-related topics in a variety of settings including school, clinical, and community-based organizations to diverse participants of varying ages, identities, abilities, and backgrounds. Most recently, Carly was the Regional Manager of Education and Training at Planned Parenthood of Southern New England which included facilitating educational workshops, professional trainings for youth-serving providers, parent/care giver-child communication workshops, and peer education programming. She is a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Development from Connecticut College and a Master of Public Health degree with a concentration in Maternal and Child Health/Community Health Sciences from Boston University.

As the Director of Health and Wellness, Carly is excited to join the Gordon community as an engaged member both in and out of the classroom. She is drawn to Gordon's focus on equity, inclusion, and multicultural education. Carly looks forward to building relationships with students, families, and staff while helping to support a healthier and more just community for all.

Carly left her hometown of Barrington to live, work/study, and play in CT, Spain, NYC, and Boston before returning to RI in 2015. For self-care, Carly enjoys staying active, spending time outdoors, adventuring near and far (especially to visit her niece in San Francisco), trying new restaurants, and swimming in any body of water she can.
