Maryanne’s career in education spans over three decades, including serving as Gordon’s Lower School director since 1998. In addition to working in school administration, Maryanne has taught students in second through ninth grades. She has often said that the reason she has stayed at Gordon is because she gets the best of both worlds; she is in classrooms with students often, is part of curriculum planning and also gets to be a part of a dynamic leadership team with her administrative colleagues.
Maryanne earned her B.A. in Child Development from Stonehill College, North Easton, MA and her M.Ed. in Administration, Planning and Social Policy from Harvard University, Cambridge, MA. She enjoys the strong relationships forged in her partnership with families. Her work reflects Gordon’s ‘child by child’ philosophy. Although Maryanne lives here in RI, during baseball season you may likely find her at Yankee Stadium in NYC. She has lived in Red Sox Nation for several decades and has learned to successfully navigate the challenge.
