Gordon's Head of School

Welcome to Gordon School!

It is an honor to lead a community so deeply committed to the enduring belief that children thrive when we nurture both heart and mind.

At Gordon, our mission grounds everything we do, and it comes to life through a dynamic program that integrates rigorous academics, social-emotional learning, and a steadfast commitment to equity and justice. Rooted in the principles of progressive education, our classrooms are places of inquiry, intellectual challenge, and meaningful engagement, where students are encouraged to think critically, ask questions, and develop a strong sense of agency as learners and as citizens.

Gordon’s exceptional faculty and staff are at the core of this experience. They bring expertise, creativity, and deep care to their work, building strong relationships with students and supporting each child’s growth as an individual. Through this intentional approach, Gordon students develop the skills, confidence, and character needed to succeed in secondary school and beyond.

Equally important is the strength of our community. Gordon is a place where students, families, and educators work in true partnership, united by shared values and a collective commitment to belonging and respect. Ours is a community that celebrates each child and fosters a deep sense of connection that lasts well beyond their Nursery to eighth grade years.

We are incredibly proud of our Gordon graduates, who are thoughtful, capable, and principled young people, well-prepared for the opportunities and challenges ahead. They leave Gordon not only with a strong academic foundation but also with the curiosity, empathy, courage, and resilience that will guide them throughout their lives.

I invite you to learn more about our wonderful program and to experience firsthand the energy, purpose, and care that define Gordon School.

Warm regards,
Meredith deChabert
