Gordon's Head of School

In the spring of 2024, the Board of Trustees of the Gordon School selected Dr. Meredith J. deChabert to be Gordon’s next Head of School.

As Board chair Damian Ewens ’90 wrote in a letter to the community, “Her deep expertise, her enthusiasm, her joyous spirit and the overwhelmingly positive feedback she received from the community all led to her being the search committee's clear recommendation.”

Meredith’s full biography is here

A timeline of the transition process is at www.gordonschool.org/headsearch

In January 2025, Meredith sat for an interview with the fifth and sixth grade newspaper

She began in July of 2025.

Conversations with Meredith

This series invites caregivers into informal, small-group conversations with the Head of School throughout the year.

These gatherings are designed as open dialogues, allowing Meredith to deepen her understanding of the Gordon community through direct personal connections.

To ease the load on families’ schedules, these will be scheduled before or after events that are already parts of the annual school calendars. The hope is that this series will allow Meredith to connect with an authentic cross-section of the Gordon community in her first year.
