Welcome to this year's Visiting Artist
Work already taking shape under Rebecca Goodale's guidance
Rebecca Goodale, the 2013 Visiting Artist, arrived yesterday.
Work is already taking shape.
This afternoon, sixth grade students made flag books.
What is a flag book? The students compared them to pop-up books, accordions and collages.
(The collage elements were pieces the students had made and set aside earlier in the year.)
Ms. Goodale is working with fourth and seventh grades this month, as well.
She is also holding a workshop for faculty tomorrow.
One modern language teacher got a head start today, sitting in with the sixth graders.
As they worked alongside each other, they cooked up a plan: they would bring their books to Early Childhood, and explain the process, en espanol, to the younger students.
