Welcome Doreen Rappaport
Visiting Author begins weeklong residency
Author Doreen Rappaport began her weeklong residency this morning.
She met with the Kindergarten to start the day.
They had read her book Martin's Big Words.
But they'd never seen it in Japanese.
Or in Korean.
Today, she will present to the Lower and Middle School as well.
Tomorrow, when the GCA Book Fair begins, she will begin more hands-on workshops with smaller groups, including class-by-class work with third, fourth, seventh and eighth grades.
The Karla Harry Visiting Author program is held in memory of a beloved Gordon librarian, administrator and parent, and made possible by an endowed fund established in 2006.
