Civil rights veteran makes time for Gordon eighth grade
Thank you to James Zwerg, who spent an hour talking with Gordon's eighth grade via Skype today.

In 1961, Zwerg joined the Freedom Riders, who were testing the Supreme Court's decision desegregating public transportation facilities. By participating, he defied his family's wishes, and earned a near-lethal beating from an angry mob.

Zwerg's virtual appearance at Gordon was arranged by an eighth grader, who tracked him down and interviewed him for a reasearch report in preparation for February's Civil Rights Trip.
