When math brings students together

That sound? link to embedded video

It's the sound of ninety sixth, seventh, and eighth graders enjoying a math exam.

Today, these students volunteered to spend an hour on the MathCounts qualifying test.

The top ten scorers will defend Gordon's championship title at the 2020 state tournament.

It's a tournament Gordon has won three out of the past four years.

Ten years ago, Gordon committed to create a schoolwide math curriculum that engages and challenges every student.

Gordon has followed through, with time and resources

That work has led to championships for the top students.

But it's also created a passion for math that draws together crowds of students at times like this.

These students didn't need to take this test today.

They thought it would be fun.
