The Gordon School

When every voice joins in

Today's winter assembly hit the perfect balance for a school that works to ensure that every student feels valued and every voice can be heard.

Today's winter assembly was full of music and laughter.

To start things off, Physical Education teacher (and beginning piano student) Mr. Ray demonstrated courageous leadership by guiding the crowd of four hundred through the school song.

From there, the assembly was off and running, a showcase for students from Kindergarten to eighth grade.

As each grade took the stage, special guest accompanists continued to appear.

From students to faculty to parents, Gordon's music department has a deep bench of instrumentalists to draw on.

At the end of the assembly, when another singalong was followed by the band's renditions of Three Little Birds and Hey Jude, the lines separating performers, accompanists and audience members became hopelessly blurred.

It was the perfect conclusion for a school that works to ensure that every student feels valued and every voice can be heard.
