Welcoming Courage Kpormorne Hunke

The twenty-seventh Britt Nelson Visiting Artist

Gordon is thrilled to welcome Courage Kpormorne Hunke this year as the Britt Nelson Visiting Artist. He will be on campus from March 31st to April 24th, working with students in every grade level and drawing on his rich background in collage, printmaking, painting, and working with found and reclaimed media.

This was the twenty-seventh residency sponsored by the Britt Nelson Fund, which was established in 1998 to support Gordon's commitment to hands-on art education.

They will be giving two artist talks as part of his residency, directed to students but open to parents and caregivers. Dates will be announced when they are confirmed.

Courage lives and works in Accra and is a member of the Ghanaian based art collective, Artemartis. He has shown his work throughout Ghana and in Athens, Paris and London. The Gordon residency is his first major project in the United States.

His work can be explored at www.theartemartis.com/couragehunke
