Welcome to the world

It's their world to take care of.

The butterflies emerged from their cocoons a few weeks ago.

Kindergarten green group released them on Grandfriends' Day.

The chickens hatched last week.

They'll move out to Casey Farm sometime before the end of school.

The fairies moved out of their fairy house when the weather cleared up.

That has allowed Young Kindergarten to perform some renovations.

Nursery released a boxful of ladybugs yesterday.

And today, they said goodbye to the last of the praying mantis hatchlings.

It's all part of a curriculum that goes beyond simple biology.

These children are discovering how the world works.

But they're also exploring their role in that world.

It's their world to enjoy.

And it's their world to take care of.

This year, Early Childhood students have stood up for penguins and other ocean animals.
