These little lights of theirs

Early Childhood made it look easy this morning.
 

They were working very hard.
 

Students gathered in the theater to perform some of the songs and dances they’ve learned this fall.
 

It was a thrilling challenge for the performers.
 

It was a thrilling challenge for the audience as well.
 

These three, four and five-year-olds are learning to be on stage, and learning how to be an audience.
 

In May, they will sing and dance for parents and caregivers.
 

Today was just for practice, and they’ll have another just-between-us gathering in January.
 

They did a fabulous job, onstage and off.

 

The wheels on the bus went round and round.
 

Turkeys tangoed.
 

Robots boogied.
 

After each class had taken a turn in the spotlight, they all sang together.

 

These little lights of theirs lit up the theater.
 

And after three verses, they each got up carefully and filed out
 

singing softly and carrying their little lights out into the world.

Middle School will have a winter concert tonight.
