Performing arts in the Online Learning Community

Throughout the spring, this blog shared examples of what visual arts class looked like in the Online Learning Community.

What about the performing arts?

Two examples, still being polished as classes came to an end:

The seventh and eighth grade choral ensemble worked with producer Kirsten Oberoi to create this moving performance of Secret for the Mad by Dodie Clark. The video draws on conversations students had about their own worries and joys, bringing home the lyric "there will be a day when you can say you’re okay and mean it. I promise you, it’ll all make sense again.”

The Middle School musical was Working, based on the book by Studs Terkel. Students filmed their own segments at home, and the video was sewn together by two rising seventh graders. A brief "trailer" is below; the entire cast will virtually gather for a viewing party tomorrow night.
