The Gordon School

The importance of not minding your own business

The school's leadership reflects on the opening days of the year

At Friday's rain-delayed opening day assembly, students and faculty gathered for reflections from the two new student leadership co-presidents, Head of School Noni Thomas López, and Assistant Head of School for Teaching and Learning Alethea Dunham-Carson.

In the course of their short remarks, they covered being new at Gordon, the importance of optimism, making peace with change, minding your own business and not minding it too, all with the aim of, in the words of Ms. Dunham-Carson, "letting people know that you see them, that you know that they matter, and that you share this space with them."
