The grand finale

The season-ending basketball game between the faculty and staff and the eighth grade

above: the totally unnecessary, completely wonderful three-pointer at the buzzer from yesterday's game between the eighth grade and the faculty and staff

These games are usually close, but yesterday, the eighth grade beat the faculty and staff decisively in the Nelson Field House.

The energy in the room was undeniable. The stands were packed, and younger students cheered on a faculty and staff team that included representation from all corners of the school: buildings and grounds crew and behind-the-scenes office staff alongside teachers from all three divisions of the school.

It was an especially memorable game for alumni faculty members Jeremy Garcia '08, Sophie Jackson '12 and Hannah Rossheim '11. They played in this game as eighth graders, and this year they got to play alongside former faculty opponents like Mr. Carson and Mr. Kravitz.
