Statements of belief

Last spring, four seventh graders were invited to read original essays on Rhode Island's local NPR station, as part of the Public's Radio's long-running This I Believe segment.

By recording their work at the Public Radio's studio in downtown Providence, they become part of a tradition that now includes over twenty-five Gordon alumni.

A statement of personal belief is an annual assignment in seventh grade humanities class.

Since 2011, the team at the Public Radio has reviewed the results and chosen several to develop into radio segments.

Three of this year's batch have already aired, with the fourth coming up on September 18th.

Each one contains the drama, passion, and love of life that NPR listeners have come to expect from Gordon seventh graders.

July 9th, 2019: Love Saves
July 24th, 2019: Life to the Fullest
