Sharing the Civil Rights Trip story

Eighth grader and his teacher on WJAR's Studio 10

An eighth grader got to share, and amplify, the lessons of Gordon's eighth grade Civil Rights Trip on WJAR's Studio 10 today as he and his humanities teacher talked to Mario Hilario about their experience in Georgia and Alabama last week.

The brief conversation covered a lot of ground: the connection between the past and present struggles, the experience of walking in footsteps of legends, the trip's role in Gordon's social justice curriculum, and the importance of continuing the work of those who came before them.
