The Gordon School

Leading with love

Turkey Trot is a leadership lesson that draws in the whole school

Every November, Gordon's eighth graders lead the Turkey Trot.

It's part of an ongoing partnership with Pleasant View Elementary School.

Every spring, Pleasant View hosts Gordon eighth graders for a four-week service project.

Every fall, the Gordon community comes together to help ensure a great Thanksgiving for every Pleasant View family.

On campus, Middle School students celebrate with a gentle, non-competitive trot around the school.

Over the past decade, the event has grown to include all corners of the school.

Eighth graders lead younger grades in age-appropriate activities.

Some are loud.

Some are quiet.

The younger students love the care and attention they get from the big kids.

The big kids, too, love getting cheered on by their younger pals.

It's a community building event centered on fun and generosity.

Thanks to the eighth grade for leading the effort.

Thanks to the faculty who pulled it all together.

And thanks to everyone who participated!
