Hometown hero Meredith Langmuir '12

Congratulations to Meredith Langmuir '12, who is WPRI-12's Hometown Hero this week. The clip can be seen at on WPRI's site.

The headline news is that she has committed to play lacrosse at Harvard University, which should be no surprise to anyone who knew this scholar-athlete while she was at Gordon. Langmuir made her mark early in her career at Gordon, and participated in a legendary set of Gordon teams that won the field hockey, basketball and lacrosse championships in a single year.

Langmuir is one of six members of the Class of 2012 who are headed to Ivy League schools in the fall. Princeton University, Columbia University, Dartmouth College and the University of Pennsylvania are also represented. And that's just who Gordon has heard from so far; alumni are encouraged to get in touch with news via alumni@gordonschool.org or www.gordonschool.org/dropaline

Meanwhile, Gordon's lacrosse teams are off to another great start this year. The girls and boys teams have a combined record of three and two, with two nail-biting games decided in the final seconds.
