Gordon hits the road

Gators connecting Washington, DC, and Denver, Colorado

Gordon hit the road this week, with multiple appearances in Washington, DC, and out in Colorado.

Joukowsky Family Library Director Frances Martindale and Director of Philanthropic Engagement Alexandra O’Connor were in Washington, DC, Monday night, as Rob Glancy ‘97 hosted a gathering that included Cara V. Camacho ’93, Katharine Templeton ’11, Meghan Buonanno ’11, Tavie Abell ‘06 and Dorothy MacColl Woodcock ’54.

Across town, Humanities teacher Tamar Paull was at the Supreme Court as the justices heard a landmark case on gender-affirming care. She went to DC with a bundle of signs created by Gordon’s Middle School Gender and Sexuality Alliance, and had a chance to share her experience with the team behind the TransLash podcast.

Meanwhile, a half dozen faculty and administrators were in Colorado at the National Association of Independent Schools’ annual People of Color Conference. They are spending the week meeting peers from across the country and going to workshops and presentations led by lawyers, poets, authors and educators, including names from Gordon’s past that include Liza Talusan and Howard Stevenson.
