Gordon doesn’t stop for the weekend. After a busy week of learning and collaborating, Gordon Middle Schoolers were up first thing on a Saturday morning and back to work.

Over at Ponaganset Middle School, the seventh and eighth grade robotics teams are competing against dozens of teams at the RI FIRST LEGO League championships. They’ve been working for months on their projects, which include a multimedia presentation of an extended research project as well as demonstration of their engineering and programming skills as their robots tackle challenges in front of the assembled crowd.
 

And at Regis College up in Weston, Massachusetts, thirteen students are at the Association of Independents Schools of New England’s Middle School Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging Conference. Gordon’s been going to this conference for over twenty years; this year’s attendees are exploring identity, culture, humor, neurodiversity, memory and listening through dance, music, visual art, writing, yoga and scholarship.
