This week, seventh graders began reading George Orwell's Animal Farm and the US Constitution in humanities, talking about current events in advisory, and practicing ukulele in music.

This month, the conversations in seventh grade music will look at the genre of patriotic music through a social justice lens. They've dissected a recent remake of Woody Guthrie's This Land is Your Land, and began examining (and rewriting!) My Country Tis Of Thee. They'll also be looking at the music choices made at presidential inaugurations through the years.
