Poetry from first grade, second grade, and the mists of Gordon's past
Poetry is in the air in Lower School, right on time: April is National Poetry Month, historically a high holiday in Gordon’s middle grades.
Second grade started their intensive study of poetry yesterday by collaborating on this acrostic, above.
And today, after dropoff, a first grader was moved to write several poems, which she then shared during morning meeting.
Lines included:
Love
Love is important, love is nice, love will shine
Heart
Your heart is the thing that pours your love and it helps you through your day
Legs
Your legs are the thing that keep you going and they protect your bones
Brain
Your brain keeps you alive and helps you think
