Eighth grade athletes celebrated at Green and White Day

After a rainy morning, the clouds cleared and we had a spectacular afternoon for our fall Green and White Day on Wednesday.

Gators of all ages celebrated the end of the fall season with two soccer games, as well as face painting, tattoos, crafts, games, and sweet treats from Luxe Lemonade and SAGE Dining.

This was the eighth graders' final soccer game on Engle Field and between games, the eighth graders who played a sport this fall were individually called up and cheered by their peers, their coaches, their families, and the assembled crowd that has watched them grow up in Gordon's athletics program over the past four years.

It was a celebratory afternoon marked by spectacular play, exquisite donut holes and an inspiring community vibe: young students in face paint, bigger students crushing it on the athletic fields, and parents and grandparents cheering and connecting with one another.

Special thanks to the parent volunteers who pulled this event together, and to Providence Country Day’s athletes for playing so well while surrounded by so much Gordon school spirit.

Dozens of photos and short videos are now online.
