Every Gordon student is expected to be able to get up and present what they’ve learned, in front of friends, family or strangers.
 

It’s a core life skill that’s practiced in every grade.
 

In eighth grade, each student demonstrates their public speaking, at an admissions workshop, an all-school assembly, an alumni gathering, a concert, or some similarly daunting event.
 

In the youngest grades, the work begins with days like today.
 

Early Childhood sang and danced for each other at a Winter Gathering this morning.
 

Caregivers weren’t there. They’ll come to a Spring Gathering.
 

But today’s performance was a full production.
 

There were careful entrances and exits. There was lighting. There were bows and applause and modest curtain calls.
 

There was a quiet, attentive audience.
 

There were robot dances, shaking snowflakes, pantomimed sleigh rides and promises of loyal friendship.
 

Everyone did very well.
 

This was the first step on a journey that will bring these students to podiums, press conferences, post-game interviews, stages, spotlights and TV screens in the years ahead.
 

We can’t wait to see them there.
