First grade was thinking up ways to get to ten.
 

Across the school, seventh grade was adding numbers up to get two hundred and seventy.
 

Seventh grade spent the morning plumbing the mysteries of the electoral college.
 

Why does little Rhode Island have more electors than Alaska?
 

Should Texas and California really be that important?
 

And the big one: how can the candidate with more votes lose the election?
 

The conversation drew on fourth grade geography, second grade math, third grade debate, and an instinct for fairness and compromise that’s cultivated at Gordon beginning in Nursery.
