The Gordon School

A mission built on partnerships

Explore Gordon's partners on Giving Tuesday

Dear Friends,

On Giving Tuesday, Gordon invites you to learn more about some of the partner organizations that help ground our students’ experience in the work of effecting real, lasting change in the world.

Partnerships are an essential piece of Gordon's effort to connect on-campus learning to the rest of the world. From Nursery to eighth grade, Gordon students and faculty work with dozens of organizations over the years. These include formal nonprofits, museums, schools and businesses, as well as informal community groups. They visit our classrooms, welcome us on field trips, host our eighth graders for service learning opportunities, consult with us on sustainability initiatives and partner with us on events like the Providence Children's Film Festival's movie nights.

The list is long, too long to include here. For this Giving Tuesday, then, we’re focusing on nonprofits that work with our eighth graders: on the Civil Rights Trip to Georgia and Alabama, and on the service learning work they undertake when they return. It's a powerful culminating experience that gives soon-to-be graduates a running start as they leave Maxfield Avenue and become forces for positive change in the world beyond Gordon.

Please take a moment to learn more about these partners who were each part of our eighth grader’s experience this past spring, and consider supporting them this Giving Tuesday.
