"Where people know how to take care of each other”

NBC10 explores Gordon's response to the Washington Bridge crisis

“What Gordon’s done after the bridge closing reinforces the fact that this is a community where people know how to take care of each other.”

Liz Bateson of Channel 10 was on campus today to learn more about Gordon’s response to the Washington Bridge closing.

Her piece aired at 6pm today.

For those of you who aren’t in Rhode Island: half of the Washington Bridge was declared unsafe in December and closed. This is the main crossing between Providence and East Providence, and the closing has resulted in unpredictable delays in people’s daily commute.

Since the bridge closed, Gordon has mobilized with a number of creative solutions to help simplify the commute for families, ranging from discounted after school care to premade take-home dinners.

The list of solutions is ever-evolving, updated weekly, and spelled out at www.gordonschool.org/bridge
