What's next?

By now, families have gone through the back-to-school mailing.

They've found Gordie and taken him on some adventures.

Teachers have reached out to families, and begun Zoom meetings with their houses.

The deadlines for Gators, YAP and athletics have passed (but not Middle School theater or music lessons - learn more at www.gordonschool.org/afterschool)

September 10th has been confirmed as the start date for the school year, and community agreements have been shared.

The Town Hall with Dr. Thomas López was recorded and is available in the Commons - the password is in the parent emails.

What's next?

Tuesday and Wednesday, September 8th and 9th
Campus walkthroughs
Tuesday the 8th, 8am walkthrough for Early Childhood
Wednesday the 9th, 8am walkthrough for Lower School
Wednesday the 9th, 9:30am walkthrough for Middle School

These walkthroughs will last around forty-five minutes, and will include time for questions and answers with administrators and Nurse Horton. Walkthroughs will happen in small groups, and families can arrive up to a half hour after the start time without missing a thing.

Preview the process, with animated maps, at www.gordonschool.org/dropoff

Families only need to come to one. While each walkthrough will focus on a particular division, the entire process will be covered at each session. If the time for your child's division doesn't work, please come to another session or email cphipps@gordonschool.org to arrange another time.

Parents are welcome to bring their children. Child care will not be provided, and the playgrounds will not be open during the walkthroughs.

Families should use the safety app before coming to campus for the walkthroughs. The safety app generate a "cleared for campus" text message and an email "green light" pass - please have the text message or email message up on your phone and ready to show.

While it will be wonderful to see each other again,  families will need to keep reunions brief and maintain social distancing during these walkthroughs.

Wednesday September 9, 3-5pm
Gordon@Home learning kits pickup
Families enrolled in Gordon@Home this fall can come by campus and pick up the supplies and materials they'll need this fall.

Thursday, September 10th
The new school year begins!

To allow everyone time and space as they practice the new dropoff routine, the start of the school day will be staggered for the first seven days of school.

On September 10th and 11th, and the week of September 14th to 18th...

Middle School drop off will be 7:55 a.m. to 8:10 a.m.
Lower School drop off will be 8:10 a.m. to 8:25 a.m.
Early Childhood drop off will be 8:25 a.m. to 8:40 a.m.

Families with children in multiple divisions should come to the drop off time of the oldest sibling. For example, if you have children in second and sixth grade, you should follow the Middle School drop off time between 7:55 and 8:10 a.m

All classrooms will be supervised beginning at 7:55, so there is flexibility in the system. If this schedule does not work for your family, please reach out to Maryanne Pieri (Early Childhood and Lower School, mpieri@gordonschool.org) or Gabe Burnstein (Middle School, gburnstein@gordonschool.org).

If this schedule means you will need child care between 7:15 to 7:55, please reach out to Jenny Alario at jalario@gordonschool.org.

Beginning September 21st, dropoff will begin for all divisions at 8am.
