One of the first activities we did in the new year was making bar graphs showing where Cape-Verdean immigrants settled in New England in the early 1900's. We learned it was very important to make sure that the numbers on the vertical axis occurred at regular intervals, no matter how much paper it took.....

We started to work on fractions and set about dividing a geo-board into halves. We learned that each half did not have to be that same shape, as long as it had the same amount of squares as the other half...
