Four Middle School students and faculty joined a volunteer picking crew of nine at Cook's Valley Farm in Wrentham, MA, on August 15th. The short-notice service opportunity reaped 1,100 pounds of corn for the Rhode Island Community Food Bank. Thanks to Farm Fresh RI for coordinating this adventure, and to the people at Cook's for finding this creative use for their surplus.

Orientation is still weeks away and news is already surfacing about the other summer service projects of Gordon students, faculty and alumni. As far away as Honduras and as nearby as Potters Avenue, people have remained engaged in the world beyond Gorfon all summer long.
