Every performer needs good management
Get out your calendars.
Kindergarten and Young Kindergarten perform on May 24th. Students should be there by 6:15. Parents, siblings, friends and extended family should be in their seats by 6:30. The show will end by 7.
First and second graders have a recital on May 17th. Students should be in the Lower School Music Room at 6:15, the show begins at 6:30, and everything will be wrapped up by 7:15.
Fourth graders are invited to perform at the New Family Gathering, Monday May 21st. This is not a long performance; students would perform at 5:10 and parents should be ready to whisk them away by 5:30.

Concussion policy Gordon has adopted a formal concussion policy, which documents the ways that teachers, staff and coaches respond to head injuries. To comply with state regulations, when a student's injury meets certain criteria, the parents will be asked to obtain a physician's permission before the student can participate in PE, athletics or other vigorous activities. |

You are in for a treat James Reynolds, this year's visiting artist, will be talking about his career and his work at Gordon on Wednesday, April 18th at 7pm. If you've been to these annual artist talks before, you know how great they are. If you haven't, you are in for a treat. The snacks are amazing, as well. The event is free and open to the public. |

Yes, it is a noon dismissal day. And yes, there will be enrichments that day. Music recital After school music students are having a recital next Thursday, January 26th. Friday buses Bus riders note: buses don't leave until 3:15, even on Fridays. Bus-riding students can relax in Gators and YAP free of charge between dismissal and 3:15 on Fridays. Find that snow gear Send your child to school with snow pants, boots and other gear. Not an assembly Parents will not, of course, be turned away, but this is an informal sit-on-the-floor affair with a few singalongs and poetry recitations. |

Robotics fifth to eighth grade with Rosemary Colt Robotics programming is about the fun and excitement of science and technology. For the first time, YAP is offering a once a week robotics building and programming class. Children will learn to engineer and program using the Lego Mindstorms intelligent microcomputer brick, and its intuitive drag-and-drop programming software. No formal competitions, just hands on fun.
