Visit

After inquiring, a visit should be scheduled. This can be accomplished a number of ways. The best advice for prospective families is to come for a visit, see the school in action, and ask questions. We are eager to share our knowledge about Gordon School with you.

Call or email for an individual tour with an admission team member, at 401-434-3833 x116 or admission@gordonschool.org. A tour can also be scheduled during the day visit, or, for many, the tour will occur during the fall admission open house.

The day visit and parent interview

Schedule a day visit for your student applicant and an interview for the parent
The length of the visit will depend on the grade the student is applying to. Please call or email to schedule, 401-434-3833 or admission@gordonschool.org.

Applicant visit information

Nursery, Preschool, Young Kindergarten applicants
Visit for no more than 30-45 minutes.

Kindergarten
Visit for approximately two hours in Preschool. The student will also work individually with an admission team member on a brief grade-level readiness assessment.

First grade
Visit in Kindergarten for a full morning until 11:45 am. The student will also work individually with an admission team member on a brief grade-level readiness assessment in reading, writing and math.

Second to eighth grade
Visit for a full day in their current grade. The student will also work individually with an admission team member on a brief readiness assessment in reading, writing and math.

The parent interview allows for time with an admission team member to learn more about what a parent is looking for in a school in relation to their child’s education. The parent interview usually occurs when the child is visiting in the classroom or following the visit. If neither of these times are possible, another time can be scheduled.
