Multicultural education at Gordon

Wednesday, January 11th 6:30-8:30pm
A workshop with Dr. Enid Lee

Gordon is nationally recognized as a leader in multicultural education. The Teacher Residency Program, now in its second year, draws on that expertise.

What is multicultural education?

How does it strengthen academic achievement at Gordon?

Dr. Enid Lee spoke on the value of multicultural education, and attendees participated in two of four workshops led by Gordon faculty:

Susanne Toothaker
Kindergarten classroom teacher
Rosemary Colt, Diana Reeves, Noelle Walters
third grade classroom teachers
Greg Carson
sixth grade math, science and humanities
Gabe Burnstein
eighth grade humanities

Dr. Enid Lee has worked with Gordon faculty many times over the past decade, most recently leading the 2011 Multicultural Institute for faculty. She has done extensive research on multicultural practice, publishing many articles and serving as a contributing editor to the book Beyond Heroes and Holidays.
