One third grade class created their own set of trading cards after researching individuals who changed history.

 

Download and print out your own set, including Sequoyah, Jane Goodall, Martin Luther King, Jr., Theodor Seuss Geisel, John Muir, Jesse Owens, Jim Thorpe, Sandra Day O’Connor, Albert Einstein, Rosa Parks, Louis Pasteur and Neil Armstrong.

 

Throughout Gordon's curriculum, the focus alternates between the figures famous for changing history, and the less visible foot soldiers who make such innovation and growth possible. This culminates in the annual eighth grade trip to Georgia and Alabama, where students meet citizen activists who continue to make Dr. King's dreams the focus of their daily lives.
