Throughout Gordon's curriculum, the focus alternates between the figures famous for changing history, and the less visible foot soldiers who make such innovation and growth possible. This culminates in
the annual eighth grade trip to Georgia and Alabama, where students meet citizen activists who continue to make Dr. King's dreams the focus of their daily lives.
