Hot Lunch 2011-2012
I am pleased to announce that Gordon has chosen a caterer for hot lunch.

Starting Tuesday, November 1st, students who choose to participate will be provided a hot lunch on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The lunch will be prepared by Russell Morin Fine Catering and served to students by adult volunteers.

The Morin name has been serving food in New England since 1911.  You can find more information on Russell Morin Fine Catering at www.morins.com.

This year the menu is simplified, with pizza on Tuesdays and pasta on Thursdays. A salad bar and fresh fruit will be available on both days.

Each lunch will be $5 for Lower and Middle School students and $4 for students in Early Childhood (a fifty cent increase from the original announcement in August). Gordon also supplies milk and water to all students at every lunch, Monday through Friday.

During the year there will be some exceptions to the Tuesday/Thursday schedule:

A bagged lunch will be provided on November 15th, 17th, December 13th, 15th, February 28th, March 1st, May 3rd, May 8th (four Tuesdays and four Thursdays)
A turkey dinner will be provided on Tuesday, April 10th and Thursday, April 12th
Cookout will be offered on Tuesday, May 1st and Thursday, May 10th

The full schedule is on the calendar on Gordon's website, and will be on the wall calendar distributed at Orientation as well.

The lunches will be charged to your student’s account on a per semester basis, with first semester billed now and second semester billed in January. Should you enroll and subsequently decide you no longer wish to participate, Gordon will be happy to refund the remaining semester on a pro-rata basis.

Gordon’s parents’ association, the Gordon Community Association will be coordinating the volunteer servers for hot lunch. Gordon values the volunteer opportunities the hot lunch program provides and welcomes its parent hot lunch volunteers.

Each month one or two grades are offered the opportunity to volunteer:

November Fourth grade
December Kindergarten and Young Kindergarten
January Fifth grade
February First grade
March Seventh grade
April Second grade and Nursery
May Third grade
June Kindergarten and Young Kindergarten

More information regarding how to volunteer for hot lunch will be coming to you from the GCA.
