On July 1st, 2018, Gordon welcomed Veronica Jutras as the new Admission Director.
Veronica Jutras has been at Gordon since 2007, and brings to her work a deep understanding of Gordon families, Gordon students, and the impact that the nursery to eighth grade model has on young people.
She has worked with every grade level in the school, establishing a close working relationship with students and teachers throughout the building. Through these relationships, she has emerged as a leader in the school, serving on dozens of committees and teams, including, most recently, the Committee on Community Life and the search committee during the process of hiring Noni Thomas López as Head of School. Along with music teacher Bridget Baird, she has been one of two faculty liaisons to Gordon's LGBTQQIA community.
In health and wellness work, Ms. Jutras learned firsthand how Gordon develops curriculum that remains age-appropriate and relevant to the emerging needs of young people. Much of her curriculum development broke new ground, including her work developing of one of the few middle school Gender and Sexuality Alliances in southeastern New England. As a trainer, she has been sought after for seminars and workshops by schools and youth organizations from Manhattan to New Hampshire.
As a longtime eighth grade advisor, she has seen how a Gordon education has shaped students and families, and she has witnessed the impact these students have on the high schools that they go on to attend.
