About Gordon >  In their own words: Susanna Rhodes Beckwith '84 >

In their own words: trustee Susanna Rhodes Beckwith '84

I chose Gordon for my kids because it feels familiar, child-centered, functions like a true community, builds the self-esteem of each child, and is egalitarian and progressive.

We prefer the Nursery to eighth grade experience because it allows for a level of comfort among the younger children, ownership among the older children, and experiencing the transition process from one school to another is a life lesson.

We embrace the multicultural curriculum and think it benefits ALL students. It is our view that a diverse student body goes hand-in-hand with a multicultural curriculum.
